Resources

Forms, guidance, tools, technical documentation and research for classifying, declaring and carrying HPF information. New to HPF? Start with How It Works, or read the Taxonomy for the complete classifications and definitions.

HPF is currently a draft standard and is open for consultation. The supporting materials below are published to help people understand, test and apply the proposed approach while it is being developed.

The HPF Standard defines the classifications, decision rules and requirements for making a declaration. These supporting materials are informative: they do not change the standard or create additional requirements.

For filmmakers

  • Work through the facts that matter, classify a specific version of a finished production and complete its HPF declaration.

  • Describe one use of AI and see which HPF classification it points to, with an explanation of the facts that affect the result. It runs entirely in your browser and requires no account. What you enter is sent only if you choose to include it when reporting a result.

  • Create a signed record of the HPF classification for a specific version of a finished production.

  • See how information recorded in an HPF declaration can help you respond to an organisation’s own AI-disclosure questions, what else it may ask for and what remains part of its own process.

For organisations

  • A lightweight workflow for requesting, receiving, checking and retaining HPF declarations within an existing process, including when to ask for one.

  • Paste an AI policy or disclosure question to see what an HPF declaration may already answer, what additional information may be needed and where the wording may be unclear. It runs entirely in your browser and requires no account. What you enter is sent only if you choose to include it when reporting a result.

For developers

  • Create and validate machine-readable HPF records using the permitted values and governing standard version. Versioned with the HPF Standard.

  • Implement the storage, exchange and interpretation of HPF records across existing systems and workflows.

  • See how an HPF classification could be carried in a C2PA Content Credential. This is a working proposal and is not part of C2PA or the normative HPF Standard.

  • Access the normative text of the HPF Standard in Markdown, with llms.txt supporting discovery by agents and crawlers.

The fragmented state of AI disclosure in film
A review of how film funds, festivals, awards bodies and broadcasters ask about AI use. It examines the information they request, the different definitions and approaches they apply, and the ambiguities their published wording can leave for filmmakers.
